Musically speaking, Hipospadia was a compendium of all the paranoias of its components. They have been compared with Mastretta (in Radio 3, RNE), Mr. Bungle, Muse... It also has been told that they seem a verbena band. But this is only the iceberg top. The felt such unhappy playing an only style of music that they decided playing several styles: pop, death metal, tango, thrash metal, bossanova, black metal, classic metal, hard rock, jazz, blues, oriental, country, funk, techno, punk, classic, rock, latin and progressive metal. And circus music. They were such a bastards! Hipospadia was born in October 1999, when Álvaro Blanco, Sergio Domínguez and Antonio decided to create a band. In the beginnings, the band was called Mr. Frog. After probing several guitarists, Daniel Bautista was the chosen one. The meetings began in Arucas in November 1999. Miguel García (vocalist of a band called In Albis) joined the band as keyboardist. There was no idea of the music they would make. In fact, they pretended to create a normal band. But in the first meetings that idea became impossible, if you have in mind that the more rotten brains of the island were in the same band. In december the name of the group changed to Hipospadia (a weird illness...). They were playing in the rehearsal local for 6 months, composing themes, and recording some homemade material, finally recompiled in a cassette called "The Calima Hedionda EP", with dreadful themes and terrible sound.
