Highness can probably play to the nostalgia in most of us. The band consists of members from Christie Front Drive, pg. 99, City of Caterpillar, Darkest Hour, and more. First impressions of “Gaea (Strings)” may suggest that their style is most akin to vocalist Eric Richter’s former band, Christie Front Drive, since his fey delivery of melodramatic lyrics puts the emo references front-and-center, but upon closer listen, one can parse out the distinct contributions of each member. On "Gaea (Strings)", Highness manages to fully realize the strengths of their past endeavors and concoct them into one yearning stroll down Painful Memory Lane.
