Artist
High-Functioning Flesh is an electropunk / ebm act from Los Angeles, California, United States that formed in 2013. In the vein of bands like Portion Control and Cabaret Voltaire, as executed by electronic body mutants Greg Vand (Green Screen Door, Francis Harold, The Holograms) and Susan Subtract (Terraform, BRANES). Their unique hard beating electronics are heavily infused with body horror that seeks to revive us from our spectacle-induced coma. Unlike the swarm of revival/old-school bands out there hoping to capture your nostalgia or naivety, HFF strives to pump your bodies and refresh your mind from the tired beat. The band released a demo entitled Demo Tape 2013 on April 6, 2013 through their Bandcamp page. Later that month, they performed live and recorded two songs for Part Time Punks Session 5/2013. The two live tracks were uploaded to their SoundCloud page in June 2013. Their debut album entitled A Unity of Miseries - A Misery of Unities was released March 30, 2014 on DKA Records. The band released their sophomore album on April 21, 2015 entitled Definite Structures on Dais Records. A single entitled Human Remains was released February 26, 2016 on Dais Records. HFF released their third album Culture Cut on June 23, 2017 through Dais Records.
