Ambient pop is the game, with songs formed out of reverse-cycle loops and vocals that echo and stir instead of sitting firmly in one place. Think Braids with fewer overlapping parts, Animal Collective with fewer acid flashbacks. After meeting at one of her shows, Tom Baxter and Cara Mitchell quickly toyed with the idea of collaborating to create a synth pop to both their liking. Whilst both came from different backgrounds finding their common ground within music quickly led to the collective formation of Hideouts. Although from the Granite City of Aberdeen, this certainly doesn’t make their sound dull. Debut EP OUT NOW!
