Hey, Bastard! began with two best friends in a shitty apartment, in good ole Terre Haute, Indiana. With just guitars, the sound of the music was exactly what sounded right to them. Guitarist, Will Jarvis, decided that there was serious potential there and it needed to become a real band. After several cassette tape demos, the two finally ended up recording a good sounding EP at Burning Bridge Recordings in May of 2007. Kyle Carver recorded guitar and drums and Will J. recorded guitar and bass. This is where they met the original vocalist and bass player. The tracks laid down at the studio were catchy and raw, pushing the band to start playing live gigs. The band uploaded the songs on Myspace, reaching 1000 hits the first day the songs were posted. Between May and June of 2007, Hey, Bastard! rocked the shit out of the Midwest, playing their first 13 shows while gaining a huge local following. With constant promotion online and word of mouth, the band began playing shows constantly where ever possible throughout the Midwest. Playing every weekend possible at any venue or club. Hey, Bastard! shared stages with several national touring bands early in the life of the band thus far. (Comeback Kid, Bleeding Through, August Burns Red, The Chariot, Maylene & the Sons of Disaster, He is Legend, etc.) Sometimes they had to borrow gear just to make it happen.
