Hailing from Richmond, VA, Herro Sugar was an indie rock band mainly playing shows in the Richmond area. Formed in 2010, Herro Sugar's lineup consisted of Jack Mayock (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals), Noma Illmensee (Bass), Tristan Fisher (Lead Guitar) and Jack Oliver (Drums). The band's members attended high school at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School with Lucy Dacus, and appear in the music video for her song "I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore." Herro Sugar eventually evolved into the band Manatree, which initially maintained the lineup of Mayock, Illmensee, and Fisher, before transitioning into a trio of Jack Mayock, drummer Alex Elder, and bassist Jim Burns.
