Heron has started a band--Silent Disorder. Queens, NY rapper/producer/self-taught guitarist Heron DeMarco began creating music at age 9 and has since learned to play 3 instruments. “Although I’m very serious about the art of emceeing, I’m also just as serious about my guitar playing as well as producing great songs. It’s tough because a lot of people don’t expect rappers to know anything about music, composition, and songwriting so it’s an uphill battle to gain respect”. His first album Mutiny, a collage of live and sampled instrumentation (e.g. "Fire Flies" with its sung chorus and home-brewed guitar/piano work and "Way Down" with a Led Zeppelin sample), is hip hop bravado ("Hip Hop Is in the Building," "If U Were Me") with an tinge of emotional, heartfelt lyrics ("Fire Flies"). “Mutiny was really about a kid throwing caution to the wind, breaking every music rule and just following his heart. I’m grateful people really took to it the way they did.” Heron plans to release his new EP Everything Burns in February 2009 with lead single “Tumblin Down." "Tumblin Down" reveals a new musical direction in the same vein as "Fire Flies." - http://www.myspace.com/herondemarco User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
