Hermit Thrushes is an indie math pop band hailing from Philadelphia and consisting of five men: Andrew Keller, Charlie Biando, Nick Brannon, Sam Tremble and Yianni Kourmadas. In July of 2008, Hermit Thrushes pressed their debut album Benaki under Single Girl Married Girl. In 2009, Joyful Noise released the second Hermit Thrushes album, called Slight Fountain. The summer of 2009 saw Hermit Thrushes touring extensively through the US in support of Slight Fountain. Music reviews have noted a psychedelic feel to the band's music, and advise seeing them live for the full effect. "Hermit Thrushes are best known for their live shows, during which they swap mean-spirited banter with each other, wear color-coded outfits and brandish a trumpet when needed... Hermit Thrushes offer more proof that our city's newest generation of indie bands can colorfully defy genres while happily erupting all over the place." (Doug Wallen - Philadelphia Weekly).
