Hereä performs Scandinavian world music, a fusion of an ancient pulse with graceful new melodies. The powerful lyrics stem from tradition, while a wide range of musical influences and improvisation are the cornerstone of the band's music. The rare combination of instruments, soulful vocals and vivid musicianship result in the unique sound of Hereä. The band members have attained honors in international competitions spanning genres from tango nuevo to jazz and electronica. Their colorful musical backgrounds are woven together by a shared love for various folk traditions of the world. Hereä released its debut album Hereä in 2007.
