Toronto trio Helsynki began playing together in 2012. Since the release of their debut album “The City Walls” they have worked with some of the city’s most innovative bands and promoters. Singer John Ferguson met drummer Spencer TC and bass player Matt Tanaka doing session work with the California surf-rock band “Send Medicine”. They draw inspiration from a combination of 90’s grunge, 80’s post-punk and every decade of rock back to the 50’s. They recently headlined The Royal Ontario Museum’s “Friday Night Live”, were featured in a week long bio for 94.9 The Rock and are working on their second studio album; due to begin recording this Fall with producer Ian Gomes.
