Underground shows, hand drawn flyers, organizing, and working together with both other bands and the kids ....this is the chassis to the protestant work ethic make-up that is Hellfire Trigger. Hellfire Trigger, or "HFT", was brought up and schooled in the "old ways" of brother bands and VFW halls, but they exist to resist in a time of high dollar guarantees, overwhelming competition, and monster venues. The band was formed from the dismantling of several San Diego local bands, to form a, for a lack of a better term, "all-star" local band. The mission was to draw attention to and unite the borderline non-existent North County scene, and carve out a home. CJ, the singer, already owned and operated an indie label called BC Records, which was gaining attention. Nicholas, the guitarist, had a long history of setting up guerrilla shows in the Midwest. Rick, the drummer, and AJ, the bassist, were both well connected locally and excellent networkers. The first show was May 13 th , 2004 in a stained ballroom above a bowling alley with A18 and the Hillstreet Stranglers, and the amazing turnout benchmarked the new dawn. Since the area was essentially untapped, makeshift venues sprouted and attendances swelled. Ambitious and able to bring in national acts like: TSOL, Agent Orange, JFA, the Weirdos, the U.S. Bombs, and A18 to the North County, HFT and their brother bands were now promoting and playing to great crowds without the use of pre-sale tickets, the use of "pay to play
