Hellcity Punks is a fine combination of poplike melodies, thunderous and intensive riffs, punky attitude and wretched stories about life. Although fostering the legacy of performers like Kiss, Mötley Crüe and Alice Cooper The Punks still succeed to sound very 21st centurian. In the beginning of 2007, little more than a year after his former band had split-up, Janze ran across Hooligan and Dennis while wandering the nightly streets of Helsinki. They soon noticed that they had very similar visions and goals and shared the passion for shameless rock n’ roll. The triple joined forces and soon after that they heard rumours of this motorcycle driving maniac called Johnny and decided to recruit him into the band. Hellcity Punks were born. After some time of rehearsing and composing, the debut EP “Result In Disaster” was released in august 2008 at Hellcity Fest ‘08, the one-day indoor festival the band organized themselves. The event was a staggering success and therefore the follow-up, Hellcity Fest ‘09 will be a two-day party. The EP got rave reviews from the rock media all around Europe (f.ex. Demo of the Month in german Metal Hammer). The single “Destionation O.D.” hit the Official Finnish Download Chart as well as the Official Finnish Single Chart and stayed there for seven weeks.
