Hellbutcher is a Swedish black/thrash/speed metal band formed in 2023 by legendary underground vocalist Per “Hellbutcher” Gustavsson following the end of his seminal old-school black metal band Nifelheim (active 1990–2022). Driven by a mission to uphold the raw, feral spirit of metal in its most primal forms, Hellbutcher fuses blistering black metal ferocity with thrash and speed-laden riffing, crafting a sound steeped in blasphemy, intensity, and relentless energy. Joining Hellbutcher in this new sonic crusade are seasoned collaborators Necrophiliac (guitar), Iron Beast (guitar), Eld (bass) and Devastator (drums), forming a lineup rooted in decades of extreme metal experience. Across its sound and approach, Hellbutcher embodies a visceral blend of black metal’s blasphemous darkness, thrash’s frenetic aggression, and speed metal’s rapid fire intensity — a cathartic expression for fans who crave raw, old-school metal delivered without concession.
