Hella Sketchy (real name Jacob Thureson) was a rapper and producer hailing from Los Angeles, California. He was born in California on June 11th, 2001. When Jacob turned 12 he and his family moved to Austin, Texas. He passed away at the age of 18, on June 27th, 2019. This news was announced via Twitter by Jacob's father. A few weeks prior, it was announced via Jacob's Instagram that he had gone into a coma because of a drug overdose. Hella Sketchy was a member of the Soundcloud supergroup known as D1. This supergroup also consisted of producer Ginseng (rap alias Lil Wintr), producer Shiro, producer Despair, and rapper Marcelo. Jacob was a very talented and successful producer, his beats being used by musicians such as JuiceWRLD, Tay-K, Ugly God, Wintertime, Lil Tracy, Black Kray, PnB Rock, Pollari, and Warhol.SS. He also worked with other well-known producers such as Charlie Shuffler, Diablo, and Ginseng. His first early success came with the single "Spent A Check", which has amassed over 1 million views on YouTube. Some of his other most popular songs include "Llama" and "Stupid". His impact on the SoundCloud underground scene can't be denied and his music will be here as a reminder of the damage drugs can cause and the wonderful person that was taken too soon.
