Hegira definition: (a journey or a flight to escape danger) is an unsigned female fronted rock band out of New Hampshire carrying a dark sound with an old aged presence that can only come from New England. With a little bit of isolation, cold weather, and spiritual growth, the 4 members of Hegira were able to channel their life experiences into their music ,working long and hard hours together to create a list of songs that ultimately became their debut album entitled "Wish & Wallow" (CH.1) (CH.2) is nearly ready and will be out by 2014's end. "What is it about this band that is striking everyones curiosity? Could it be the undeniable chemistry that manifests itself song after song? or is it the lyrics that draw you in like a storyteller at a campfire? Whatever it is, it is not being ignored, neither are some of the tough issues that singer/songwriter Melanie brings awareness to throughout the album such as love, war, and other social injustices. Karl Soullier ;Rhythm/Lead Guitarist, Eric Cloutier; Bassist, Shawn Oullette; Drummer together, poured their hearts and souls into each song on this album and are happy to share the collection.
