Canadian native Heather Kelday blends jazz, pop, folk, and blues with her rich voice as well as instrumental talents on the banjo, electric guitar, bass, mandolin, and piano, among others. For six years, she recorded and toured with a band of owls (formerly Barefoot) until going solo in 2007. She began to write songs in 1998, and formed Barefoot in 2001. The band released Road 2 (2002), The Rabelstein E.P. (2004), and Migration (2005). The band released Of wood and water, stars and song in 2006 under the name a band of owls. Kelday released her debut solo album, titled, The Hitchin' Post, in 2009, her sophomore record, The Golden Mile, in 2014.
