Head Bangs was started in Tacoma, WA by Sarah Moore in 2007 as a solo keyboard and vocals act. She played several open mic nights before recruiting drummer Elliott Snyder in March 2008. The duo recorded a 4 song EP that spring, and played some shows in Tacoma and Olympia. After a summer hiatus the duo moved into the attic at the 808, and soon began operating the basement as a venue + studio + practice space. After playing many shows in the NW, they decided to record a full length cassette entitled "WHAT EVEN IS THIS????" in early 2009, which was only available in limited runs to show patrons. Head Bangs continued to play until December 2009, when the band went on hiatus until further notice.
