Havana Guns formed in 2006 over a discussion about where to get decent lunch for less than £5 in East London. They released a limited 7" single on the small Cigarette Music label. Even though distribution was limited, they received attention by underground press and late-night indie radio programmes all over the world, for example by Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 1 and Rodney Bingenheimer on KROQ. Rolling Stone magazine called it "irresistible" and gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Their sound has been compared to The Velvet Underground, The Supremes, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Blondie. The UK music paper NME called them "..Blondie for the Libertines generation". User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
