Electronica/dance music writer/producer Biography My name is Andy Turner and I produce dance music under the name Hatstandy Andy. My love for dance/electronic music started in the early 90's when (known as "Pinhead") I used to mix trance/techno/acid at raves around dorset. I started making electronic music in the mid 90s & used to do live sets in clubs around Bournemouth (under the name The Phat Controller) using a Yamaha EX7 workstation synth, 2 Korg electribes (drum synth & bass synth) connected by midi & triggered, played & filtered live. I got more serious about writing producing in the late 90s/ early 2000s, went to Point Blank college of record production in London & set about producing/remixing on an Apple Mac G5 using Logic & many plug-ins, synths, drum machines/samplers. I have had several releases through 2 different labels (Queep records & Xeton records) under my current name Hatstandy Andy. My 1st release "Emerge & See" was released on Xeton & was played on Fire FM's guest mix & played by many big names including Paul Van Dyk. My most successful release to date is probably "This Heaven" which was played by the Flash Brothers in their headlining set at the Renaissance festival across Europe to crowds of thousands. I am also still dj-ing and am resident at The cellar Bar, Boscombe, Bournemouth where I will be doing an album launch including a live set of my own tracks following a dj set of various old & new house, breaks & d&b.
