Hart's Asleep is a one man project that has been in mild development with origins beginning around the end of 2007, with increased attention during the latter months of 2008 and into 2009. The idea began as a simple means of self-treatment for Joshua Hart's chronic insomnia. After month's of sleepless nights, Joshua began searching for music that aided in the nightly "come-down" prior to attempting to sleep. Despite the vast number of sub-genre's within the Ambient and Minimal music categories he was unable to find any acts that possessed all of his ideal traits. Thus, he began studying the creative process of materializing abstract ideas into tangible sounds, or more precisely - music. Only after approximatrely a years worth of practice, diligent research, and honing his craft altogether did he begin to feel comfortable with the idea of sharing his creations with others, going beyond simply viewing them as his own personal means of self help. Due to encouragement from friends, in March, 2009, he began to make his works available to the general public believing that there may be an audience of people similar to himself who may benefit from, or at the very least, enjoy his efforts/sounds. Further information regarding Hart's Asleep can be found on their official website www.hartsasleep.com where you can also download most of their music free of charge.
