Arjen Schumacher has been working under the alias Hardmoon since 2001. He was very active for several years on the forum of the dutch community Clubcharts. In 2005 he heard about a new german community, Friend Of Electronic Music (FOEM). Within weeks he felt at home at FOEM and started supporting the free FOEM CD releases with some of his own work. In 2006 Arjen participated in a remix contest, set up by FOEM, for Gabriel Ananda's clubhit Ihre Personliches Glueksmelodie. Not knowing the track, he stepped into the contest completely open minded and made a very mellow, laid back remix, based on only one snippet from the original track. It turned out that the Hardmoon remix was one of the five winners. The track was published by Karmarouge and released on vinyl and as a digital release throughout the net. Arjen is currently moving his musical interest towards atonal harmony and tries to aim at more simplicity in his music.
