Happy Straps are a mid-1980's German Goth band from the DDR. A very short and not really exact statement. Happy Straps existed from the mid to the later 80's. Based in East-Berlin. To categorize the music as Goth is rather incorrect. In today's terms a more correct category would be Post-Punk/ Power Pop/ Experimental. Mentionsworthy also, for both of the cassette editions at the time - the keyboard support of Flake (Feeling B, or better known from Rammstein). More information about the band can be found at http://www.happystraps.de/ (german only - as far as i know) Both tapes made by the band in 1985 (What A Pleasure and Last Pleasure) where remastered in 2005 and are available at the website (which is hosted and maintained bei Krischan - guitar/ vocals) as CD's.
