Hanne Sørvaag is a Norwegian singer/songwriter born in 1979 in Stavanger. She is currently based in Oslo, after living and working as a professional songwriter in Stockholm, Sweden. She is signed to Universal Music Publishing Group as a songwriter. Through the years she has written songs that ended up at top charts in Europe, USA, Australia and Japan. In 2006 one of her songs was used in the finals of American Idol, and the finalist Kathrine McPhee reached second position on the Billboard single chart with the song “My Destiny”. Sørvaag’s first song that reached number one position on Norwegian charts was “Brief and Beautiful” in 2007, sang by Maria Arredondo. Sørvaag writes around 200 songs yearly, and is sought-after among songwriters and artists in Norway and internationally. She made history when she came in the international finals of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 in Oslo as the first female songwriter with two songs, “My Heart Is Yours” with Didrik Solli-Tangen presenting Norway, and “Shine” by Sofia Nizharadze presenting Georgia. Sørvaag released her first album “You Know Me” in 2002 under the artist name Paris. Her second album “Talk Of The Town” was released in 2006 under her own name. She had several top 10 singles in Norway, but she desided to focus on her songwriting career for a while. In 2011 Sørvaag was back as an artist. She continued her solo career, and started the group Dollhouse Special with known songwriters and artists Simone Larsen and Laila Sa
