Much of the inspiration behind Hannah Scott’s music can be found in her affinity with Italy. A year living and working in Tuscany in her late teens provided the backdrop to her early work. She subsequently spent nine months travelling back and forth to the hilltop villages of Liguria to record her well-received EP Still Static. Now she has finally found her musical home at Stefano Della Casa’s Hertfordshire-based label and production company, Casa Music - or, as she puts it, her “own little corner of Italy”. Hannah’s latest release, Hurricanes, sees her collaborate with producer and multi-instrumentalist Stefano, whose influence and direction have been key to her progression both as a songwriter and performer. The single earned her an invitation to record a live session on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show and has been played by Bob Harris on Radio 2, as well as being chosen by BBC Introducing as their “Track of the Week” for BBC 3 Counties. Praise for Hannah’s distinctive voice, strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics has arrived from influential publications such as MOJO, who shortlisted her from hundreds of entries for the final of their New Voice competition and The Guardian, who handpicked her as their New Band of the Day. She can also be heard in Caffè Nero, where she has been “Artist of the Month”, in Costa and in bars and hotel chains around the world. Her arresting live performances have earned her invitations to open for artists including Seth Lakeman and 10
