Hanley Johnson ( aka Tye-Tongue Hanley), was an obscure good time R & B singer from Detroit MI and GM Fisher Body Division line worker with a penchant for energetic delivery of lyrics with a distinctive stutter. As Tye-Tongue Hanley, he released two sides on a 45-rpm 7-inch via the small Detroit R&B indie JVB label (started by record store owner Joe Von Battle) with "I'll Try To Understand" and "You Got My Nose Wide Open" in 1955.
