In October of 2009, Noc.V and a friend from the United States, sm0ke (Michael Allen), got together to form the Trance group 'Hangover Logic'. Noc and sm0ke were initially introduced to one another through a mutual friend, and are currently working on a Hangover Logic release, projected for a 2010 midyear release. This project merits attention for its cross-continental creative partnership during a pivotal moment in electronic music. The collaboration between Noc.V and sm0ke represents an intriguing intersection of influences—one artist from each side of the Atlantic bringing distinct production sensibilities to trance. What emerges from such geographic and stylistic friction often reveals something about how electronic music was evolving in the late 2000s, when digital collaboration was becoming increasingly seamless yet still rare enough to feel deliberately chosen. Their willingness to blend perspectives suggests curiosity about what trance could articulate beyond its established conventions, making this a worthwhile entry point for understanding the genre's experimental impulses at that time.
