Artist
Originating from Arequipa in southern Peru, Hammelin has emerged as the voice of the great volcanoes of the Andes. Their music resonates from the mysterious jungles to the rough seas that demand respect. With nearly 20 years of artistic history, the band has secured a place in the hearts of its followers by seamlessly blending traditional Peruvian folkloric elements with the high energy and speed of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Many listeners have connected with their deep lyrics, which range from personal life experiences and messages of hope to epic narrations of Peru’s national history. This unique sound has allowed Hammelin to share the stage with legendary artists in the genre, including: Rata Blanca, Mägo de Oz, Saratoga, Saurom, Uróboros, Leo Jiménez and Fabio Lione. The band also achieved national recognition through their notable participation in the TV show "La Banda," where they successfully reached the final rounds. Following the 2017 release of their debut album, “Seca tus Lágrimas,” and several singles honoring Peruvian music, the band is now preparing for the launch of their second studio album, “Y no podrán matarlo,” in 2024. This upcoming work will feature briefer, more direct songs and will showcase a more consolidated evolution of their signature style: “Peruvian Cholo Rock.” User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
