THE HISTORY AND CREATION OF H3DFONE J4K. Headphone Jack (stylised as H3dfone J4k) are a unique and quirky New Zealand duo made up of Jonathan Mines (born in New Zealand) and Louis Barron (born in England). The duo has been described as a delicious blend of Post-Rap, Lamecore and Indie Funk, and has been known as the frontrunners in the genre. The duo themselves, however, have been quoted multiple times saying they don't like "being confined to any one genre" and they would much rather just been seen as music. Their sound combines sweeping synths, driving guitars, bouncy piano, pumping rap lines and the beautiful falsetto of Jonathan Mines. Louis Barron, vocalist, musician and programmer, has a knack of using utilising dark, haunting samples along with Jonathan's spine tingling falsetto and uniquely blending them with something much more accessible and fun. The lyrics, co-composed, are a demoralising look upon 21st century western society, and what the corruption within it can cause. The duo was founded the 26th of September, 2010 in Louis' third story bedroom. It had been a long and frustrating day for the pair, who had originally met to discuss plot ideas. They threw out their plans (which could have bought them under police suspicion...trufax) and decided to rehash old, unused/unreleased clay characters into a new movie.
