Artist
Composer, percussionist and electronic musician Héctor Moro studied classical percussion and composition at the 'Universidad Católica' in Santiago de Chile. Afterwards, he made post graduate studies with Mathias Spahlinger (composition) and Bernhard Wulff (percussion) at the 'Musikhochschule Freiburg' in Germany. Recipient of many grants and scholarships (DAAD, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Künstlerhof Schreyahn, Akiyoshidai International Art Village, Bellagio Center of the Rockefeller Foundation); he also has received commissions from the Ensemble Modern, the SWR Vokalensemble, the Neue Vocalsolisten, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the Pro Helvetia Stiftung, among others. His music has been performed at the most importants Festivals for Contemporary Music and Concert Halls like Eclát Stuttgart, Musica Viva Munich, Alte Oper Frankfurt & Konzerthaus Berlin. Through his work with Sascha Armbruster, Uwe Dierksen, the late Wolfgang Stryi and as a member of the Trio Frissons, he has been doing an exhaustive research into the realms of Improvised and Electronic Music. He has also taught Experimental Music at the 'Universität der Künste' (University of the Arts) in Berlin, city in which he also currently lives.
