H&D is a South Korean duet group consisting of former X1 members Lee Hangyul (Hangul: 이한결) and Nam Dohyon (Hangul: 남도현). The group is under PocketDol Studio, an entertainment company created by MBK Entertainment and Interpark. Pre-debut Before being in X1 and Produce X 101, Hangyul was on the show The Unit. He was also part of MBK Entertainment group's IM before going on the shows. Member Dohyon was on Under Ninteen prior to his participation Produce X 101 and X1. On February 5, 2020, they released a pre-debut single song titled Happy Day, which contained the title track "Toward Tomorrow". Their pre-release track "Unfamiliar" was released on March 30, 2020. 2020: Debut They officially debuted on April 21, 2020 with their first mini-album Soulmate. The mini-album had two title tracks “Soul" and “Goodnight". The mini-album also contained previously released tracks "Toward Tomorrow" and "Unfamiliar". Other songs on this mini-album were "Empty-Handed" and "Make Me a Different Person" . On September 2, it was announced that the duo will be making a comeback on September 23 with the special album Umbrella, including the title track of the same name. The album includes songs composed by Dohyon. This album is their last album before the duo stopped working as both Hangyul and Dohyon are set to debut in Pocketdol Studio's new boy group BAE173.
