Per Gunnar Emanuel Idenstam (born November 18, 1961 in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden) is a Swedish concert organist, composer, arranger and folk musician. Idenstam has a higher degree in organist and cantor from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Rune Engsö, Anders Bondeman and Torvald Torén as teachers. He also studied at the Conservatoire National de Rueil-Malmaison in Paris. Gunnar Idenstam has written commissioned music for the Wermland Classic Festival, Lahti Organ Festival and for various choirs and groups in the Nordic countries. His Cathedral Music was used by choreographer Margaretha Åsberg in one of her works and he has composed original music for choreographer and dancer Virpi Pahkinen. Together with Benny Andersson, Orsa Spelmän and the School of Music in Piteå's chamber choir, he premiered Benny Andersson's specially written work En skrift i snön (text: Kristina Lugn) during the inauguration of Orgel Acusticum at Luleå University of Technology. He has also collaborated with the national fiddler, the classically trained Lisa Rydberg, as well as with the nyckelharpist Johan Hedin.
