'Gunjan' means 'Musical Echo', so it was no surprise that at the very young age of three, Gunjan's nursery school teachers and others who heard her sing, told her mother that Gunjan was destined for a career in music and that she would dedicate her life to her vocal talent and exceptional ability to sing. At the age of four, she made her debut stage performance for her Kindergarten School. After that there was no stopping her passion to sing, so she went on to record Children’s Nursery Rhymes, Religious Songs, and Radio and TV Commercials all over Asia. As the biggest child star in India, Gunjan's popularity continued to soar and she received the prestigious All India (National) Award for best Vocalist for three years in a row. Gunjan spent years nurturing and perfecting her talent, while under training from some of the most famous musical directors and composers in India. As a teenager, she shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the Indian Music Industry, such as Lakshmikant Pyarelal, Ravindra Jain, Anuradha Paudwal, Sonu Nigam and Subha Mudgal. Gunjan impressed all and stood out to many, as she had the ability not only to sing in all South Asian languages and dialects, but in just about every foreign language as well. Gunjan settled in United States in her late teens and continued her Indian Classical Music Training under the tutelage of the legendary Ustaad Ali Akbar Khan in California.
