Gulddreng is the alter ego of Danish singer/songwriter Malte Ebert (born in 1994 in Vejle, Denmark), which Ebert created as a reaction to Danish music charts being dominated by what he describes as 'bad pop music'. In 2016, he saw his first seven singles all reaching #1 on the Danish Top 40 Tracks chart. In January 2017, Gulddreng released his debut EP, 24K EP, a limited edition vinyl-only release featuring six of the seven singles that had preceded it. The EP is sold exclusively at Gulddreng's live shows and through his website. On 22 September 2017, Malte Ebert announced his intention to withdraw the Gulddreng character following a concert planned to take place on 2 February 2018 in the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.
