Grzegorz Piotrowski is an outstanding young Polish saxophonist, appreciated composer, arranger and music producer. He graduated from Music Academy in Katowice (the elite jazz and light music faculty). He collaborated among the others with David Friesen, Gary Versace, Wojciech Karolak and Wieslaw Peregorolka. Abroad, he is also renown as the leader of the Alchemik group which was classified as 'one of the top 10 Polish jazz events of the last decade' (Zycie of 03.08.2001). He is also a creator and the leader of other jazz groups such as Oxen, Freedom Nation, Head up and the project Dekonstrukcja Jazzu (Jazz Deconstruction). Grzech Piotrowski is considered one of the best and most comprehensive musicians of the young Polish jazz generation. His style is compared to Jan Garbarek's which Piotrowski finds really flattering. He is ready to experiment with adjusting saxophone sound with electronic modulations or playing without a mouthpiece.
