Grown Kids (グロウンキッズ) is a unit founded in June 2014 in Japan. Their music is a mix of Pop, Hip-Rock and Rock, but also has Country influences. They consist of Lafa Taylor (ラフャー) and Jamil Kazumi (カズミ). Jamil Kazumi is from California and fluent in English, Japanese, Thai and Spanish. His music career started when he was 14 forming a unit with a classmate and they sold over 12.000 copies of their self-produced album by themselves. Then he stayed in Thailand for a year of study in order to apply to universities in Japan as a scholarship student being 19 years old. That's where he got in touch with Japanese culture and decided to work with artists in Japan. He made his major debut in 2010 and released one album and two singles by now. Besides that, he also collaborated and produced music for Naoto Inti Raymi and SCANDAL among others. Lafa Taylor (Rafa) is from Hawaii, but lives in California now. He produced an album himself aged 17 and started musical activities in Costa Rica, then came to Japan. He also participated in the tour and music as support of Def Tech and also is a member of the E.D.O. in Japan. He is based on the United States now and has wide-ranging activities etc. such as beat box, producer, graphic designer, photographer and designer of a brand. In 2014 he also participated at Coachella Festival in the USA. Those two guys met backstage at the Def Tech tour in 2006.
