Group Avalon is a duet formed by two swedo-congolese brothers, Djo and Mohombi Moupondo, Djo being the oldest. they evolve between Stockholm and Kinshasa. They participated in "Melodifestivalen" 2005 and got finalist with the song Big Up which entered the scandinavian big league, staying 5 weeks in the Top 20. they are the recipient of several Kora Awards, Best European-Caribbean act - KORA All African Music Award Winner in 2003 and Best European-Caribbean act - KORA All African Music Award Nominee in 2004. in 2005, they launched a new version of Pata Pata to honor Myriam Makeba and later on they introduced the group Magic System to the Swedish public. in 2008, they launched their second album Afro-Viking with a noticeable collaboration with Tony Sad (congolese artist based in Bruxelles, Belgium) for the hit Rotation which leaded to a third nomination at the Kora Awards as Best African Artist or group. the second single Fukama is a collaboration with Million Stylez http://www.youtube.com/user/groupavalon http://www.groupavalon.com http://www.myspace.com/groupavalon User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
