Groovy Chickadee was formed in 1991. by two friends Olja Miletić and Janja Bobić, who used to write for music magazine called Rhytm. At that time two of them were listening to various kinds of music, but they formed a band infuenced by Hüsker Dü, Lemonheads, Descendents, Misfits. Band had a few rehersals with Kosta (guitarist of famous Croatian band Studeni Studeni) on drums and Srđa (Cockroaches, Overdose) on guitar. When two guys split the band Olja got hooked up with guitarist Željko from Definite Choice. He joined the band along with bass player Steva and a drummer Cigla. Young guitarist Nenad joined in 1992. and together they recorded three demo songs in 1992. In 1993. they played dozens of gigs and became popular in underground circles, but never managed to record a full album. There were some changes in band's lineup during the six years.
