If you're going to listen to these songs, then grab a beer, get comfy, sit back and have your sense of humour switched to "Moderate". Imagine Mr Scruff drinking cups of tea with The Chemical Brothers whilst babysitting DJ Yoda and you might start to come close to the sounds infused by Grinny Grandad. Based on the 'scissors and string' mind of Chris Morton, these guys fuse surreal references with old school record-crate creativity and come out of it with an infectious brand of subterranean pop that makes you feel good deep down inside. Although still relatively new to the music scene and modest to the hilt, Grinny Grandad boast a respectable record of success. In only two years they have managed to secure a publishing deal with Logical Publishing in association with Finger Lickin Records and have had their music featured on the ever popular Grand Theft Auto games and European documentaries such as Rec Mag. Always up for a jam and only too happy to oblige at Festivals, give these guys a stage and a beer and they're off doing their thing whether they are circled by an army of break dancing James Brown wannabes or your average Michael Jackson impersonator doing the robot over a nice cold one. Like them or not, whatever your taste in music, you'll find it difficult to not have one Grinny track in your personal collection. Last years Liverpool Music Week "Battle of the Bands" seemed to all but prove this as they were shortlisted to the final 10 from 7,000 bands worldwide. Grinn
