Greyaye is the solo project of musician/producer Greg Jackson. He was born in St. Mary's hospital, Manchester, England in 1985. He was the first frozen embryo baby to be born in Britain. The name Greyaye was given by his sister when she was very small and struggled to say "Gregory". Influences include experiences in the towns in which he has lived (Macclesfield, Scarborough, Tokyo, Matsumoto) as well as those he has visited (too many to list) Greg started playing music at the age of 6 starting like many with the recorder. He then moved on to Electone organ before picking up the guitar at the age of 15. Greg studied Creative Music Technology at the University of Hull, Scarborough Campus. His time here proved extremely influential as he was introduced to many different types of composition and new production techniques. It was at Scarborough that he completed The Time and the Place E.P. and his first full-length album, The Mammoth Task. Between 2007 and June 2008, Greg performed solo shows in and around Manchester, as well as performing lead guitar and backing vocals for Alt. Folk group, Low Risers. ManchesterMusic.com reviewed two CDs by Greyaye, both of which recieved very high praise. MM awarded The Mammoth Task with "MMMM1/2" in December 2007 and tipped Greyaye as "A very bright star for 2008". He was also described as "Macclesfield's brightest musical talent" by The Macclesfield Express in February 2008. Greyaye then entered Noise Festival 2008 and recieved an "Exce
