Greater Than b is a pop-punk band formed in Western North Carolina around 2005 by Quinton Owens (Guitar, Vocals), Patrick Moss (Bass), and Jamie Roberson (Drums, Vocals). The trio began playing regional shows compromised of covers and a few original works. By 2006, work began on their first album, Songs for Therapy, (which included a cover of The Pixies "Where is my Mind") and in 2007 the album was released independently selling over 2,000 physical copies. The album's emphasis on catchy melodies and strong hooks exemplified early 2000's pop-punk, and achieved minor regional success gaining airplay in the Carolina's on a handful of radio stations. The band continued to write and tour regionally until around 2010, when the band took a long hiatus citing family reasons. Roberson and Moss both had small children at the time. Eventually, in 2014 a comeback was mounted and the band played to a record crowd in their hometown at "The Basement" club. Following this, the band released their EP "Take Back Tomorrow" which featured a more mature sound with an aggressive tone, but called back to its original pop roots with "Stuck in Carolina". Shortly after this release, the band went on a permanent hiatus again which continues to this day. Owens went on to pursue a degree, while Moss attended to his family and life as a nationally recognized educator. Roberson joined the band "kegtown" and continues to tour regionally and record music. Occasionally, there is discussion of another comeback
