Past members of Graupel include Shugo Kurokawa on bass (2015-2016), Julien on drums (2015-2021), Takuma Genda on guitars (2015-?), Yojiro Nojiri on vocals (2015-2016), Kai Hioki on bass (2016-2019), and Tomo on bass (2019-2021). The band's name, Graupel, was chosen by founder Yuu, who hails from Hokkaido, a region known for its beautiful snow. Through the band's music, Yuu aimed to evoke a sense of coldness and a blue texture reminiscent of his hometown.
