Artist
As one journalist said, Grant Olney feels like a religious experience gone horribly awry. He lives a quiet life, alone, remaining a beloved secret to those who know his music. His haunting meditatives and lush orchestrations have earned him much critical acclaim in the anti-folk community, especially in the wake of his 2004 album "Brokedown Gospel," but he is known for avoiding media attention (one would-be interviewer reported him refusing an interview with her magazine by stating calmly "thank you, but everything I have to say at this moment is said already in my songs"). In 2006, he moved to Holland, working on his new album, "Hypnosis for Happiness," and according to his record label, is now residing in Edinburgh, Scotland writing and recording there.
