Graham Dalby and The Grahamophones are now called The London Swing Orchestra. Graham Dalby, then a student at Trinity College of Music formed the band for a gig at The Hammersmith Palais on VE Day 1985. The band was twelve-piece including a violin and banjo/guitar and originally played 1930's swing dance music in the English style featuring Graham on vocals and Mike Lovatt on trumpet. The band recorded "We're Tops On Saturday Night" for President Records in 1987 which coincided with a BBC 2 film "I'd Sooner Be A Crooner" now available on YouTube in two parts. Other recordings followed for President - Mad Dogs And Englishmen, Let's Do It Again, Transatlantique and a Children in Need single of Teddy Bears Picnic with Gloria Hunniford and Adrian Love. In the '90s The Grahamophones recorded a definitive dance series for BMG of fourteen albums entitled Let's Dance...(Foxtrot..Tango etc.) which have been compiled as "Dancing Under The Stars". in 1987 Graham Dalby signed to EMI and recorded "Swing Classics" of American Swing legends in Abbey Road studios. The Mrs. Bradley Murder Mysteries used The Grahamophones for a number of tracks during the series and released an album that featured Your The Cream In My Coffee that the band recorded as the title theme. The band has played all around the world and continues to perform live as a ten-piece playing music from the twenties to the fifties. In 2021 Dalby release a compilation album with Upbeat Recordings titled Jazz and Swing on Scre
