Artist
Three years of gunk, junk, booze, schmooze, vagabonding and vegetating are being squeezed to fit in your cd player, and a little spot in your vast grey matter. Gowri, a half-singing-half-strumming songwriter, cuts her debut album on the back of the debut Resonate Music award at Chris Avinash's studio in Bangalore. Some of the songs in the album, like Butter Fingers and Cackle, largely obsess with bumpin' and humpin' before glory days are over, but some others like Tea, Stone and Gin and Lime are bittersweet tales of loves and lovers. With an acoustic guitar in hand, the girl has woes and indigestion aplenty -- fodder for new brews and sweeter melodies.
