Good Shoes were an alternative rock band formed in Morden, London in 2004. There have been various members over the years, with the final line-up consisting of Rhys Jones, Steve Leach, William Church and Tom Jones. Over the years, they have toured with bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, The Maccabees, The Pigeon Detectives and Maxïmo Park. They disbanded in 2010. They were originally formed as a duo by Rhys Jones and Steve Leach, however after appearing in a charity gig in Kingston-upon-Thames they grew into a full band. Rhys’ brother Tom joined the band on drums, and Joel Cox - a friend of Rhys’ and Steve’s from secondary school - joined the band as a bassist. After signing with Brille Records in November of 2005, they flew out to Malmö, Sweden to record their debut album. The album - Think Before You Speak - was released in March of 2007, containing all four singles the band had released prior. They headlined a tour in November 2007, with support from Lightspeed Champion. Joel Cox left the band as they had started recording their second album, and as a stand-in Bob Matthews (a friend of the band) recorded the bass parts. They released the first single from their second album - The Way My Heart Beats - as a free download in August 2009, and around the release of their second album (No Hope, No Future) in January 2010, friend of the band Will Church appeared as the bassist.
