Good for Cows are experimental jazz band from Oakland, United States. Their line-up consists of Xiu Xiu's current drummer Ches Smith and former Xiu Xiu bassist Devin Hoff. Band claims they formed in 1999. _____________________________ Criminally overlooked because of the label they appeared on (a criminally maligned label due to the chic nature of ska-bashing thanks to the assholes at Pitchfork), Good for Cows features Ches Smith (formerly of The Nels Cline Singers, and currently of Xiu Xiu) on drums and Devin Hoff on bass. They are propulsively experimental, like all good free jazz should be, yet do not settle easily into the unfortunate category of "experimental" music.
