Not many acts can boast warm-up gigs for such wildly different musicians as Underworld and Lana Del Ray – but that’s the case with Golden Parazyth, a music project from Lithuania that’s been around since 2005. These concerts are worth mentioning (so are their gigs with Hurts, Nicolas Jaar, SOHN, We Have Band and GusGus, for example) because they are a reminder of how wide and far-reaching Golden Parazyth’s appeal can be. It’ truly extraordinary – electronic pop delivered with the intensity that is typical of rock’n’roll and sound elements that clearly show alternative rock influences, drawing crowds of hipsters, old ravers, drunken rock festival goers. and indie kids. It all started as lead singer GP’s solo project, but nowadays he is joined by his partner in crime K@. You can see them doing push ups before the gigs – no wonder, as these men do look possessed on stage and their energetic live performances have to be seen to be believed. Emerging practically out of nowhere in 2005, a year later Golden Parazyth released his debut album Apartment of Steel which is now considered a cult classic. Underground fans hailed it as best electronic album of the decade. Special themed parties and unconventional songwriting didn't go unnoticed and soon he (GP) was taking calls from major Lithuanian labels.
