Gold Medal formed in the fall of 2016 when Alyssa, Seb, Tim, and Maurice, all students at Columbia University, gathered in a bedroom in New York City. Realizing that something special was happening, they wrote songs and began recording and performing in the area, going on formative trips to Washington D.C. and Havana together along the way.
