Music is an extraordinary way to communicate, and from quietly strummed melodies to the roar of a rock band in full flight, GOLD & SHADOW aims to communicate in an extraordinary fashion. Hailing from Vancouver Island, Canada, the bedroom project started five years ago by Dane Letourneau and his laptop quickly grew into a full band that now includes Jesse Janzen, Brandon Clarke, and Wes Holmes. With an ever-insatiable appetite for creative, soaring melodies, these gentlemen are intent on creating a tuneful response to the natural wonders of the Island area while offering a passionate focus on dynamics and texture. Influenced by the likes of Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, and Bon Iver, GOLD & SHADOW will capture your heart and mind with original, organic art-rock that innovates and inspires. GOLD & SHADOW’s music has been included on compilations such as “All Together Now”, a 2012 Seva Canada charity album that also featured Canadian artists such as the Great Lake Swimmers, and they have proudly shared stage with diverse Canadian talent ranging from PEAK Performance Project finalists Jordan Klassen, JP Maurice, and Christopher Arruda, to groups such as ZERBIN and Paper Lions from farther reaches of Canada.
