Gold & Green is the solo project of Dreaming in Denial's Ferghal Hughes. Wanting to expand the sonic possibilities of what they could write as well as not wanting to be tied down to any specific genre, Ferghal began writing songs in their spare time from the band. With the name Gold & Green initially being used as a way to post covers and other recordings to bandcamp, it quickly became a way for Ferghal to write more personal music. With their first single Letters to Heaven, Ferghal showcased a completely different sound than what they had released previously. With heavy focus on dynamics and minimal instrumentation of pianos and acoustic guitars, Letters to Heaven is a gut-wrenching song about grief and dealing with death. Their new single Countdown (Out October 28th) is another different direction for them. With heavy open-tuned guitars, an acoustic bridge and heavy use of synths, Countdown is sure to please those following the project. With plans to release a full debut album this November, Gold & Green is a must listen project for those into indie/alternative music.
